Shawn Craver is a fiddler who grew up in and specializes in the old time music of the Potomac Highlands of Appalachia along Route 219 (what is now called “The Mountain Music Trail”). Shawn is a seasoned performer whose stage show includes fiddle tunes, authentic mountain ballads, and humorous stories and lore from his moonshining grandfather and what it was like growing up in rural Appalachia in the 1970s and 80s. Shawn has shared festival stages with Chris Thile, Dick Kimmel, Tim O'Brien, Dervish, Nashville Bluegrass Band and and others. He's played shows for and received sponsorships from NPR, The National Endowment for the Arts, and the State of Maryland.

A multi-instrumentalist, Shawn Craver is a 4 time Maryland State Banjo (clawhammer) Champ, Mid-Atlantic Mandolin Champ, fiddler, guitarist, ballad singer, and a leading exponent of traditional music of the Allegheny and Potomac Highlands. He is also a singer-songwriter and rock n roller who picks up the electric guitar when his fiddle needs a break.
